Arctic Passages at the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology runs from 14 March until December 2008. The exhibition focuses on two of Sir James Wordie's Arctic expeditions: 1934 and the 1937 trip that featured T.C Lethbridge. There is also movie footage of both endeavours - taken by R.W. Feachem - that has been digitally restored and is on constant playback.
The flyer features T.T. Paterson learning how to make string figures from a local Innuit woman. Paterson's findings were later published in a fascinating volume: 'Eskimo String Figures and Their Origins', Ejnar Munksgaard (1949).
